THE ALMIGHTY CHIA SEEDS.


I was eating my dinner when my mom asked me to buy and told me about chia seeds. Basically my mom just told me that chia seeds is magical seeds. 

But, I already knew what this Chia Seeds are. They're pretty similar to basil seeds, but chia is smaller. 
I knew that people use Chia Seeds to thicken their smoothies in addition to providing nutrition. Usually they mixed it with banana, spinach, pinapple, bok choy or any green juice. But I never tried and I never knew what was the benefit of Chia Seeds. 



Then, I did some research, turns out that this seeds is one of the best superfood ever! 

CHIA SEEDS CONTAINS:

Chia seeds doesn't taste anything, so then, it can be mixed with pretty much anything that you like. But I should remind you that when chia seeds meets liquid, the seeds will absorb the liquids. So that when the seeds absorb the liquids, the seeds is will be covered with some kind of gel, it's exactly like "selasih" ini Indonesia, but the taste when you munch it is different. And because of that gel, it will full our tummy so that it will helps weight loss. 

This is the seeds that already been soak in water for 10-20 minutes. See that gel? 



There are many ways to consume Chia Seeds, you can sprinkle it raw onto almost any food, or onto smothies. I will give you few recipe that I took from Pinterest. 

Sip this water everyday.

Chia seeds in water: 
Chia seeds soaked in water plus squeezed lemon or lime for detoxifiying.

Chia Fresca: 
Water infused with fruits (berries, watermelon, or anything), lemon, chia seeds, and a touch of honey. 

Take every morning before breakfast, or drink this instead of your breakfast.

Green Weight Loss Smoothie: 
- Frozen Peaches
- Frozen Mango Chunks
- Fresh Bananas
- Fresh Orange Juice
- Chia Seeds
- Spinach

Banana Raspberry Weight Loss Smoothie: 
- 1 cup of raspberries
- 1 medium banana
- 3 cups of fresh baby spinach
- 4 to 6 oz water
- 2 tsp of chia seeds that have been soaked

Overnight breakfast - Mashed Banana: 
1. Mash the banana
2. Stir in chia
3. Stir almond/soy/rice/skim/low fat milk
4. Chill it in the fridge
5. Leave it overnight or 1-2 hours

Overnight Breakfast - Chia oatmeal:
1. In mason jar or in tupperware that has lids, scoop in 1 to 2 tbsp of Oatmeal. 
2. Add any kinds of yoghurt (greek or plain low fat yoghurt is the best for woght loss) then close the lid and shake the jar
3. Drop in 2 tsp of chia seeds, then shake the jar again
4. Add some fresh fruits, like berries, or mango or anything, really.
5. Add in honey or maple to give the taste, then shake it again 
6. Leave it overnight in refigerator. 

For snacking without feeling guilty.

Chia Seeds Pudding: 
Add chia seeds + milk + honey + vanilla into a lidded container and shake it until combined. Refigirate until thickened.

Chocolate Chia Weight Loss Pudding: 
Add 2 tbsp of Chia seeds to 3/4 cup of chocolate soy or chocolate almond milk and leave it for 40 minutes of longer. 

Vanilla-Stawberry Chia Seeds Pudding: 
Blend: 2 tsp of vanilla extract and 6 medium strawberries, and add in 2tbsp of almond milk. 

Then mix chia seeds to blended ingredients. Refigerate it overnight.
